About Us

Who We Are

On June 10th, 2016, 22-year-old singer and songwriter Christina Grimmie was shot and killed after performing at her concert in Orlando, Florida. Her family received a huge outpouring of support from Christina’s friends, extended family and fans. This support was a huge part of their healing and, frankly, survival. As a result, her father, mother, and brother founded the Christina Grimmie Foundation to help other families who may not have received the kind of support.

The Christina Grimmie Foundation was launched in 2017 to give financial assistance directly to families and individuals who experience the tragedy of gun violence. The first grant was given in November 2017, and as of July 2023, the Foundation has helped nearly 200 families with grants totaling over $478,000.

The Christina Grimmie Foundation operates in partnership with victim service organizations throughout the US. CGF remains committed to supporting families of gun violence victims so that they can focus on rebuilding their lives. Our goal is to honor the victims and support their families by offering financial and emotional support. The Foundation fosters a support community and works directly with the families to provide a genuine pathway to hope.
